I just got great documents on my Amer. Rev. patriot from the DAR. If anyone has ever applied for membership using the same patriot, they will have the records. My Berks County Patriot was Andrew Herbst (later Harpst) and I got many detials of his family from the DAR. The name lookup is free on their website, a copy of the DAR application is $10, and then for a fee, their genealogy library will do further research if you request it. I've been looking for this information for a long time and this was easily accessed. Will share with anyone researching Andrew or his children. I also got records for Peter Herbst but could not establish a connection to Andrew. He is probably a brother or cousin.
