Am seeking information on Mahlon (or Malem) James S. Rankins b 1841 in GA. First info I have is when he enlisted in CSA in Montgomery County, Arkansas. He married Sarah Gordon, daughter of George Gordon. He died in Logan County, AR. He had sons James Benjamin, Andrew Jackson, David D., and William Marion. Any help appreciated.

Although I do not have any direct information on the names mentioned, I feel there must be some connection. Our records show both Rankin and Rankins. Second, many of our relative lived, died and are buried in Logan Co., AR. Third, we have traced some back to GA. You might try contacting this email address, as they've been at it longer than I: "russianmom@arkwest.com" Hope they can help. P

Would like to know if you have any information on the Rankins family in Logan County Arkansas. My great grandmother was
Dosia Rankins married Thomas Riley Dec 19, 1885 in Logan County Arkansas. I just found the marriage records and know absolutely nothing about this family. Dosia died sometime after 1900 as she is listed in the
census for Yell County Arkansas. My e-mail address is steelejhhs60@aol.com. If you can point me in any direction it would be greatly appreciated. Also do you know where I can write to get a copy of their marriage license in Logan County.

Joyce, Yes, I have lots of information, but have not seen this name before. My maiden name is Rankin (the s was dropped at some point, I believe) and I'd be happy to send you what I have. Another person who still lives in that vicinity and has much more information is at this email address "russianmom@arkwest.com" She'll be able to tell you where to write, I believe.

I've moved & have new addresses. It's been awhile since we've touched bases on our common family links. I've lost your address so please get in touch with me at this new E-mail address & then I'll send you my new regular address.

Hope all is well & good in Arkansas. Have you retired?

Hi Emma, my name is Sandy and I have been in contact with a cousin of yours by the name of Shirley Perez. I am a decendant of Steven C. Rankins born 1856 in GA. I have seen postings about his first marriage to a Nancy L. Hooper, but cannot find a marriage certificate that states that. Can you please help me out on this and tell me where you found that information on Nancy and Steven? I am decended from his third marriage to Mary Ellen Fulks, married 1885 in Clark County, AR.
Also, I am trying to locate any information on Steven and Nancy's son, Robert E. Lee Rankins born in 1876 in either Logan or Scott County, AR.
I would appreciate any information you might have on them.

Thanks,
Sandy

Can someone please tell me if you have any information concerning STEVEN C. RANKINS and his marriage to NANCY L. HOOPER? I would really like to have a copy of that marriage record and as far as I know, they divorced in 1879 before his second marriage to LOTTIE LOVEALLE. I just know there is someone out there that can help me on this. STEVEN is my great grandfather and his third marriage was to MARY ELLEN FULKS in Clark County, AR in 1885. I have a copy of their marriage license. I would like to know when and where these two died and are buried. Nobody seems to know.

Please contact me with any and all information that might help me with my search. Thanks so much.

Sandy, I cannot tell you when Steven Rankins married Nancy L. Hooper but can tell you that she is buried in the Hooper Farm cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas, and her tombstone reads "August 13, 1878 - Jan. 1, 1896". I do have a copy of their divorce.

S. C. Rankins, 23, married Charlottey Loveall, 17, on Nov. 16, 1879. The marriage is recorded in Marriage Book B, page 184, at the Logan County Courthouse in Booneville, Arkansas. They were married by W. N. Williams, Justice of the Peace. I also have a copy of their divorce.

Hope this helps. Emma
