Hi,
My wife's family traces their roots to a Alexander Cochran who was one of the original settlers of Caribou, Aroostook Co., Maine. He and his family built a grist mill at the mouth of Caribou Stream where if flows into the Aroostook river in 1828.
His family came from Scotland and the city of Caribou Library has collected lots of other interesting material.
