I just found your post of one year ago regarding the Sifred/Siferd/Siford family in Union County.. I can't help but notice a few similarities.. I have a William Siford who was in Snyder County around 1820. He was my gr, gr gr grandfather.. His son Daniel was born in Snyder Co. 1820. I'm wondering if we can connect anything.. William is as far back as I can go.. According to records I have, he was born in Germany and his wife's name was Mary.. She and several of her children moved to Ohio around 1846/47. William died in Clearfield Co sometime after 1840.

Hi Jim -- I'm not sure if we have corresponeded before this? Haven't done much on this name, as I was running down the other Juniata Co. members of my Dad's family. Think that the origins of my line are possibly Chester Co. & maybe some time in the Lancaster area. Since the original area was all Cumberland Co.& boundaries changed over the years, could have been called Berks or ?? Anyway, other family lines all seem to stem out of Chester Co. & there is a Michael Sifford noted along with other names (Hipple, Keely, Naylor) that migrate to Perry, Juniata & Snyder. They are German for sure, but I would expect them to have come into the country pre-1820. Do you have any more links in Snyder/Union Co. to help with the search? Thanks for your interest. Marjy

Hi... I think we may have corresponded sometime in the past.. Its been awhile, but you never know what you may turn up.. My only link to Snyder County is in the death records of Daniel Siford.. His birthplace is listed as Snyder County. His father William shows up in the 1840 census in Clearfield Co. and there are a few Williams in two different counties in 1810.. I have not been able to connect them, yet, but still trying. I've had a rough time coming up with information on William, and I'm still trying. None of the names you listed in your reply look familiar..

I'm not sure if we are connected, but I'm searching for Andrew Sifread of Avon Lake, Ohio. Born 1843, died 1925..in ohio. I know there have been many spellings of my name too.
