Notes for Jean Blanchard:
Arrived in Acadia about 1636, accompanying his parents. Within a year of his arrival Jean marries Radegonde Lambert in Port Royal, Acadia, daughter of Jehan Lambert and a Mi'kmaq indian woman. In the 1671 census he is listed as plowman, 61 years old, at Port Royal having 5 arpents of plowed land and 12 horned beasts and nine ewes. The 1678 and 1686 censuses again show them at Port Royal: in the latter census both being shown at age 75. Shown in the census of 1671 at Port Royal with his wife Radegonde Lambert; children: Martin, 24; Magdalene, 28: Anne, 26; Guillaume, 21; Bernard, 18; Marie, 15; 12 cattle and 9 sheep.

Notes for Michel Richard:
Michel arrived in Acadia about 1652 with the expedition of Emmanuel Leborgne and Guilbaut. He was a soldier in the garrison at the fort of Port Royal. In the 1671 census he is listed as plowman, having 14 arpents of cleared land. The 1678 census shows him with Magdalene, four sons and five daughters (unnamed) on 10 arpents. The Port Royal Acadian census of 1671, indicates Michel Richard and his wife Magdalene Blanchard owned 15 cattle and 14 sheep. they were the parents of three daughters at the time,
