McAloon's of Ireland

Classification: Query
Surnames: McAloon Sweeney (Mundey)
Hello to all ... My name is Cydney Mundey from Marshall, Michigan and I sure hope that someone can help!!
My family changed names as soon as they got off the ship in America from McAloon to Mundey. My family came to the USA on April 27th, 1868 from Glasgow, Scotland to New York on the ship, US Iowa. The passenger list shows them as the McAloon family as follows ... John (30), Mary (27), Frank (10), Josey (7), Willie (2) and Madge (1). The census records in the US show the same first names, but the last name is now Mundey. I have researched and documented as much as I can from 1868 to present, but I would like to go farther back in the Ireland records .... but have no where to start, have no idea parents names, county lived in, etc ... If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Another note: The people listed above is my great great grandfather, John McAloon (Mundey), he married Mary Sweeney in Ireland. Maybe that might help?
