Fred Lutz (or Lucht) came to America from Bublitz, Germany in the late 1800's or early 1900's. He was married and had a son by the name of Eugene. On the way west, his wife died. He later married my grandmother, Catherine Hickey, and they had four children. I'm still trying to determine if his name was Lutz or Lucht as the story was told that he changed it from one to the other as there was a butcher by the same name in Philipsburg, MT and he didn't want to have the same name as a butcher. Does anyone have any information on this family?
