Joyce O’Connor Knauber Joyce O’Connor Knauber, the daughter of Eleanor Nagle and Earl T. O’Connor, died at age 79 on Wednesday Jan. 2, 2007,
She attended the Erie Day School and Mercyhurst Prep
in Erie, Pa., and graduated from the Knox School
in Cooperstown, N.Y.
She also attended Smith College.
She was married to Charles F. Knauber,
who preceded her in death in 1982.
While born and raised in Erie, she and her husband lived in Glendale, Calif. for 23 years where all of her five children were born. She lived the last year of her life in Green Valley with her son and daughter-in-law
Paul and Neli Knauber.
Joyce was a two-term president of the Glendale Republican Women and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Also preceding her in death was her first-born son Stephen. She is survived by sons John L. Knauber of Killeen, Texas, Mark A. Knauber of Picacho,
Paul B. Knauber of Green Valley,
and Joseph M. Knauber of Atlanta, Ga.
Granddaughter Valerie Knauber,
grandson Stephen Knauber,
and five great-grandchildren also survive her.
Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church in Erie, Pa.,
Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley, or the American Cancer Society. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 4th, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, followed immediately by burial at Green Valley Cemetery.
