Thanks. I will try talking to my Uncle Dennis. He seems to have inherited or just took all the paper and books related to the family history the my gpa Dean and gma Dorothy had gathered over the years.

I think that is really cool. You use the same names me and my cousins started using (gma and gpa) when we were younger! Guess great minds run in the family :).

Mae 'Traethodau ar Gwaun Gynfi' o tua 1868 yn honni fod Foulk Jones Ty Du yn perthyn i Sion Ffowc (Celyn Isaf) , fy 6 x h-daid innau - hwnnw'n byw tua'r un adeg ac yn dipyn o 'wariar' hefyd . Mae llyfr Ceiri Griffith gyda coeden sy'n dangos Foulk Jones Ty dy , ond dim son o gwbl am neb all fod yn fy nheulu i. Mae'r enw 'Foulk' yn ymddangos o nunlle, fel petai , yn Llanberis/Llanddeiniolen tua diwedd y 18fed ganrif , a mae'n rhaid fod yna rhyw reswm.Mae yna Foulk Jones , Foulk Williams , Foulk Morris a Foulk Price ayb . Ychydig fel 'Darren' rhyw 50 mlynedd yn ol neu 'Brittany' heddiw ! .
Yn ol un damcaniaeth, yr oedd rhai ohonynt yn hannu o Foulk Prys (Mab Edmwnd Prys yr emynydd ? ). Mi fuaswn wrth fy modd yn cael gwybod beth oedd gwraidd yr enw, ond mae'n anhebygol o ddod i'r fei, gwaetha'r modd .

I wonder if your Winnaford Shehorn comes from the Nicholas Zahaun/Sehorn/Seahorn line? Nicholas came from Holland to VA and married Catherine Woodley in Isle of Wight Co. VA. They had at least one daughter Sarah, born 1734 in VA; it's likely he had sons also. Nicholas was probably born abt 1700.

I am searching for information on my grandfather.. He was born as Robert Edward Jones 01-27-1929 in I think D.C... he later changed his name to Robert Zacharia Brewer (I don't know why).. His Aunt adopted him as a baby.. Louise Jones Sr 1883 was his aunt.. Laurence Denmead Miller SR b? d1937 was his uncle.. I know the Jones's used to live in D.C. I even know the street address. My grandpa (he passed away but his wife, my grandma) still lives on that street.

He was adopted within the family, the reason for the adoption is because his parents had too many kids and couldn't afford to take care of my grandpa.. so i'm sure whomever his real parents were had alot of kids..

Please any information would be appreciated. Heres a picture of him younger

I am not sure where I got the surname Shehorn for Benjamin Jones' wife Wineford? She was born around 1792 Greensville Va. I see other people have also attached that surname to her. Do you have a record. I also have a marriage date of Dec 27 1813. I don't know how accurate this is as I cannot find a source for that info either. Thanks for any help.
Also could she be the daughter of John Shehorn and Crissy Cato?

Re: James Jones b. 1840, VA

This is an update to my previous post with some new information.

James A. JONES and wife, Vianna (sp?) are listed in the 1910 Federal Census as living in Oxford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, near their son, William Benjamin Jones. In this census, James lists his birthplace as WASHINGTON, D.C.

I have found death certificates for both James and Vianna. James died July 13, 1913 in Marshallton, Delaware. Vianna died Nov 11, 1912 in Marshallton, Delaware. Both are buried in Liberty Grove, Maryland.

Children:
Mary C. b. July 26, 1862; d. ?
Walter Pusey b. March 9, 1863; d. Dec 27, 1930 in Delaware
Lincoln L. b. Oct. 1865; d. Aug. 3, 1900 in New Castle, DE
Henry T. b. 1867; d. ?
Sarah S. b. 1869; d. ?
Benjamin William b. Oct 1872; d. 1956 in Oxford, Chester Co., PA
Anna J. b. 1875; d. Oct 9, 1903 in Liberty Grove, MD
George A. b. 1879; d. ?

I am looking for information on the parents/siblings of both JAMES and VIANNA (sometimes spelled VEANNA). Hopefully, some of this additional information will click with someone else!

NEW INFORMATION: I have found an obituary for WILLIAM BENJAMIN JONES, son of James and Vianna, however, it lists his parents' names as "James A. Jones and LEVINA MILLER Jones." Her death certificate does list her as VEANNA, so I'm not sure which name is correct - I assume, Veanna.

Hello - I "quit" working on this for several years and just got back to it. Do you still need information on Biscamp? I have very limited information but would give you whatever I could.

I'm Aimee, my dad is Thomas Clifford Anhtony, his mother was Jessie Mae Biscamp. I don't know how all this works so please contact me via my personal e-mail at azupton@gmail.com and I'd love to get whatever I can. Thank you -

Hello- I believe that Cassie Biscamp was my grandmother's sister. Is it possible to get information from you? I am brand new to this - started several years ago and quit because I couldn't find anything and then suddenly, I got an e-mail that linked something up. My personal e-mail is azupton@gmail.com. I'm Aimee by the way -

Let me know. I'd be happy to give you whatever information I have. It is limited though.

Hi,
I have just started really getting into this and I am related to Ransome Jones. I can only go back as far as Thomas Jones born in 1770 ish & married to Jane Caldwell. Im not 100% sure this correct bc his son George Jones also married a Caldwell. Do you have any info on this and anything further? Many Thanks, Tricia

I tried, but could not attach a report on the family of Stephen Jones. I have different birth dates than you do for Stephen (1812) and Jane (1811).
I dont have alberts birth certificate yet (all I found was the freeBMD index) - i'll have to order a copy soon. My grandma doesn't have it anymore, she just told me she had seen it a couple of years back.

I just know his dad was William Henry Jones (from Alberts marriage cert).

To be honest though, I don't see how the record of Harry B Jones marrying Annie could in actual fact be the marriage record of William Henry Jones?

Also, Albert did not have a brother Harry or Henry.

Im confused to say the least, but will await the birth certificate from GRO to get the mums name for certain.

Thanks alot for replying to my post though!

Does Albert's birth certificate also say William Henry? And was his mother Annie Elizabeth? From the marriage cert of Harry Bruce JONES and Annie Elizabeth MURCH (attached) we can see that Harry's father was William Henry, and from census information that his brother was called that too.

Well Henry and Harry are essentially the same name so perhaps not too far out. Harvey Jones Wakefield born 1909 looks like a cousin rather than sibling unless he was son of an earlier marriage. So you need to check the marriage certificate of Albert's father to see if he was a widower. You should check this in any case. Also of interest is that Albert appears to have been a twin with a brother Ronald who died aged 1.

I had just got to Murch too!

This fits very well with Wilfred and Nellie whose birth registrations also show a MMN as Murch. But it was a Harry B Jones who married Annie E Murch, not William Henry. Nothing too much to worry about - wouldn't be the first time someone fluffed their father's name at marriage!

Thanks for the reply! Ive noticed you've replied to a couple of my questions so thanks!!

I know what you mean about the name - it mentioned JONES as the 2nd most common surname in the 'Who do you think you are' genealogy book I have.

He was born in Wakefield. I know the birth & death date is 110% correct as my grandma (who is still with us) has confirmed it plus she has the original death certificate (which obv gives the birth date) & his marriage certificate.

However, my grandma doesn't have his birth certificate, and doesn't know the names of his parents (her grandparents) - not even first names!

As for siblings I know all their first names - Harvey (who was on his marriage cert as witness), Wilf (or wilfred - deffo 1 of the 2), Elsie and Nellie (He married a Nellie and had a sis Nellie!).

Re: Albert Jones b. 1913 - Birth certificate/index?

The GRO or the local registrar for the district in which he was born are the *only* sources for birth certificates.

Finding the right registration is going to be a bit of a challenge for you, given his very common (in the nicest possible way) name. Do you have any idea where he was born? But you have his precise date of birth and father's name - which you have to pray are accurate - so you can order online without a GRO reference and specify the DOB and father's name.

There may be an alternative method of finding his mother's maiden name. From 1911, the GRO birth index shows the mother's maiden name. If you search FreeBMD for Albert Jones born in the first quarter of 1913, you will get a list of a dozen or so names (not including those with middle initials). Write down the maiden names associated with these births. Then search marrages for a William H Jones with spouse's surname as each of these names in turn. You can simplify and speed up this process if you have the names and ages of any of Albert's siblings and can their births with mother's maiden name the same as one on your list.

Hope this helps

Caroline
