Well this could take awhile....Before my grandfather passed away he left my father a list that he had. My father is Maurice Dicaire, my Grandfather was Romuald A. Dicaire, born May 14, 1915 in Bourget, Ontario. His father was Joseph Dicaire from Bourget, Ontario, his father was Anthime Dicaire, lived in Saint Benoit, Quebec, his father was Joseph Dicaire from Quebec, his father was Benonie Dicaire from Quebec, his father was Pierre Dicaire from Quebec, then his father Pierre (Sr.)Dicaire, his father was Louis Dicaire from Quebec and his father was Jean Dicaire (John Dicker) from London, England. The first ancestor to Canada was Louis Dicaire and that of the families of the Dicaire (Dicker)who were of English nationality. What i would like to know more about was the incident of John Dicker, Sarah Teckel(his wife) and their son Jean-Louis and the capture of this family by Indians. I've been told the mother and father were killed but the son Jean-Louis was ransomed to a man by the name of Thomas Joncaire, so they put the name Dicker and Joncaire together and came up with the Surname Dicaire. I tried to email you at videotron address and it was returned undeliverable. Any information on any of these men, wives, families, siblings would be appreciated. I have the names of most of the wives, and for some reason the dates they were married, but do not have the birthdates or dates of death of any of the men or women. Hope to hear from you soon.
